Best Practices for Tagging

A clean tagging system keeps your CRM simple and powerful.

1. Keep tags short

Use 1–2 words whenever possible.

2. Avoid duplicates

Examples of duplicates to avoid:

  • “Client” and “Clients”
  • “Follow Up” and “Follow-Up”

Pick one style and stick to it.

3. Use consistent naming

Choose a format:

  • All lowercase
  • Title Case
  • Short codes

Consistency makes filtering easier.

4. Don’t over-tag

More tags ≠ more clarity. Use only what you need.

5. Review tags monthly

Delete or merge tags that no longer serve a purpose.
